Architect’s house

Location: Vandoeuvres

The Design Brief

Our clients wanted a fresh, characterful home for their young family. Inspiration was drawn from the forests of their childhoods and the surrounding countryside, both of which can be enjoyed through the large windows of this contemporary architect-designed house in the Geneva countryside. The aim was to create a cohesive, modern interior that felt warm, personal and connected to nature.

Kitchen & Dining Area

This open-plan kitchen and dining space was designed to feel refined yet welcoming, balancing clean architectural lines with warm, tactile materials. The bespoke kitchen features deep charcoal cabinetry paired with a crisp stone worktop, creating a strong visual anchor within the space. Sculptural pendant lighting above the island adds impact, while leather bar stools bring warmth and comfort. In the dining area, a solid timber table and upholstered chairs soften the scheme, complemented by layered lighting and subtle brass accents. Large glazed doors flood the room with natural light and strengthen the connection between indoors and out. We relaid the terrace for a full indoor-outdoor eating experience, designing a raised terrace for plants and trees to create shade and colour.

Living Room Design

The living room centres on comfort, texture and visual interest. A bespoke timber media wall forms a striking focal point, combining geometric wood detailing with richly textured wallpaper. Soft, neutral seating creates a calm foundation, while sculptural accent chairs in muted green velvet introduce depth and colour. Carefully considered lighting ensures a warm, inviting atmosphere throughout the day and evening.

Bedroom Designs

Each bedroom was designed with its own distinct character. The children were involved in the process for their bedrooms, creating mood boards that inspired us regarding the look and feel. The master bedroom was reconfigured to include an updated en-suite bathroom and “his and hers” dressing areas. Designed as a serene retreat, it features a bespoke chevron timber headboard which we designed with integrated bedside tables and lighting for a clean, cohesive look. A nature-inspired palette of soft neutrals and deep greens runs through the wallpaper, textiles and artwork, creating a restful and timeless space, linking the indoors with the surrounding countryside.

Basement Design

Basements can often feel disconnected from the rest of the home, so our focus was on continuity. Through clever lighting, mirrors, bespoke doors and a consistent colour palette, the basement was designed to feel like a natural extension of the main living areas rather than an afterthought.

Man Cave & Playroom Design

The clients wanted a flexible space that could function both as a home office and a creative area for the children. The playroom is fun, colourful and practical, designed to encourage creativity, while the adjoining man cave is finished in a rich, deep grey. This space provides a calm, focused environment for work, as well as a place to display and enjoy meaningful personal items.

We worked with Lucy on the renovation and redesign of our entire home, and we’re really happy with the results. Lucy has a great eye for colour, layout and finishes, and helped us make design choices that tied everything together beautifully. She also sourced beautiful, unique furniture pieces that we never would have found on our own, and designed custom carpentry that adds a truly special touch to the space. Our home now feels refreshed and modern.

Lucy was professional, easy to work with, and brought creative ideas that made a real difference. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to update or renovate their home.
