Designing a Flexible Workspace for Modern Living
This home office was thoughtfully designed to support both focused work and everyday living, with flexibility at the heart of every decision. A motorised height-adjustable desk was intentionally incorporated to allow the client to alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day, promoting comfort and wellbeing without compromising on design. The desk was designed as a feature piece rather than a purely functional element, ensuring it feels integrated and considered within the space.
Crafted Joinery with Warm, Natural Materials
Warm timber was carefully selected for the desk and vertical slatted detailing to bring texture, warmth, and a sense of craftsmanship into the room. The slatted structure not only adds visual interest but also subtly defines the workspace, creating separation without closing the room off. This joinery detail allows light to flow through the space while giving the desk a strong architectural presence.
A Calm, Light-Filled Palette
A soft, neutral palette was chosen to keep the office feeling calm, bright, and conducive to concentration. Crisp white cabinetry provides a clean backdrop, allowing the warmth of the wood and the natural flooring to stand out. This balance ensures the room feels open and uncluttered, supporting both productivity and a sense of ease.
Integrated Storage and Thoughtful Zoning
Built-in cabinetry was designed to offer generous storage while maintaining clean lines and visual simplicity. A window seat was intentionally incorporated to create an additional zone for reading, thinking, or informal meetings, adding versatility to the room. Artwork, greenery, and subtle styling were curated to personalise the space while keeping the overall aesthetic refined and cohesive.
